It reflects our firm commitment to safety and transparency in all our operations, from the wood production industry, its processing and final delivery to the customer. It means that our forest products meet the highest standards of safety and legality in every step of their production and distribution.
"Novaforest® is a Registered Brand in Guatemala; El Pedregal, S.A. is a company name that is identified as Novaforest handling particular non-binding or exclusive FSC™ certificates. We produce timber forest products and FSC™ certified Natural Rubber products under the Management certification Forestry and Chain of Custody; Our natural rubber plantations are certified as Carbon Positive according to the ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 standards; of timber forest products are certified under the BASC International Safe Trade Standard from the Wood Industry to delivery to the final customer; and, we produce Kosher certified dehydrated Cardamom."

    Cardamom

    Since 2020, Novaforest™ has established new green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) plantations on the fertile slopes of the Fuego Volcano, located in Escuintla, on the southern coast of Guatemala.

    Novaforest has developed a sustainable agroforestry model, growing cardamom under the shade of natural rubber trees to take advantage of the area’s rich soils and abundant rainfall. Our cardamom complies with the precepts of the Hebrew Bible and has been certified Kosher, thus guaranteeing its suitability and purity for consumption.

    Pallets

    Our reusable pallets or pallets are produced from wood from our own renewable plantations, certified under the Forest Stewardship Council™ standard, which guarantees responsible and sustainable forest management. The Eucalyptus wood we use ensures high mechanical resistance, durability and low susceptibility to fungi, even in humid or refrigerated conditions. Our automated industrial process allows the consistent production of different models, with the application of heat treatment in accordance with the Provisions for Wooden Packaging used in International Trade. In addition, our export process of timber forest products is certified under the international BASC safe trade standard.     Natural Rubber

    Novaforest (El Pedregal, S.A.) is proud to be one of the first companies in Guatemala to obtain carbon positive certification for its natural rubber operations. By calculating the carbon footprint of our production activities, transportation, processing and logistics of natural rubber, we have determined that we contribute ten times more to the reduction of the greenhouse effect compared to our emissions, in accordance with ISO 14064 and 14076 standards. In addition, Our products are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council™, guaranteeing responsible and sustainable forest management. This double certification underlines our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

    Slide Cardamom Since 2020, NovaforestTM established new green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) plantations in the fertile Southern slopes of Fuego Volcano, located in the department of Escuintla, in Guatemala’s Pacific coast.

    Novaforest opted for a sustainable agroforestry model, where cardamom plants are shaded by natural rubber trees and benefit from the rich, deep soils and abundant rainfall in the area.
