Products
Cardamom
Since 2020, Novaforest™ has established new green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) plantations on the fertile slopes of the Fuego Volcano, located in Escuintla, on the southern coast of Guatemala.
Novaforest has developed a sustainable agroforestry model, growing cardamom under the shade of natural rubber trees to take advantage of the area’s rich soils and abundant rainfall.
Pallets
Our reusable pallets are produced from wood sourced from our own renewable plantations, certified under the Forest Stewardship Council® standard, ensuring responsible and sustainable forest management. The eucalyptus wood we use ensures high mechanical strength, durability, and low susceptibility to fungi, even under humid or refrigerated conditions. Our automated industrial process allows for the consistent production of different models, with heat treatment in accordance with the Provisions for Wood Packaging Materials used in International Trade. Woodchips
Produced from forest plantations certified under the international Forest Stewardship Council® standard, this efficient alternative to fossil fuels generates clean and sustainable energy. Wood posts
Produced from selected eucalyptus clones planted specifically for this purpose, our products offer an effective, long-lasting, and attractive solution at a competitive cost. Sourced from plantations certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, our products guarantee responsible and sustainable forest management, promoting the conservation of natural resources and respect for the environment.
Natural Rubber
Novaforest (El Pedregal, S.A.) is proud to be one of the first companies in Guatemala to achieve carbon-positive certification for its natural rubber operations. By calculating the carbon footprint of our natural rubber production, transportation, processing, and logistics activities, we determined that we contribute ten times more to reducing the greenhouse effect compared to our emissions, in accordance with ISO 14064 and 14076 standards. Furthermore, our products are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, guaranteeing responsible and sustainable forest management. This dual certification underscores our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
Novaforest opted for a sustainable agroforestry model, where cardamom plants are shaded by natural rubber trees and benefit from the rich, deep soils and abundant rainfall in the area.
